Peachtree Sports Festival comes to the Cobb Galleria Centre April 25. The event comprises a full weekend of family-friendly activities including various youth sports clinics hosted by professional instructors.
The clinics will be open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 18. Kids will have the opportunity to receive sports-specific training, behind the scenes insights and hands-on experiences. Any participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian able to sign a release and waiver.
Clinics cover baseball, ballet, dance lacrosse, martial arts, archery, football, softball, tennis, volleyball and soccer. Among those conducting clinics will be the Atlanta Dream and Atlanta Hawks.
Another highlight of the weekend is the speaker series featuring former athletes like David Greene, former University of Georgia quarterback, former Braves closer and runner-up for National League Rookie of the Year Greg McMichael, two-time All-American linebacker Brian Bosworth and former NFL and UGA quarterback D.J. Shockley. Georgia Tech basketball coaching legend Bobby Cremins will speak, too.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 for daily admission. Children younger than 6 are admitted free. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Title sponsors of the Peachtree Sports Festival, Allstate Insurance and Firestone, are offering free access for any metro area Big Brothers Big Sisters members.
