The mission is to help 50,000 people in Atlanta’s under-served communities this year, and this Goodie Innovation is another step in our journey to make it a reality. The big opportunity for students participating on teams is to start learning how to use their unique talent to make money AND have a positive impact on the community at the same time.
Now looking for African-American college students from Atlanta AND high school juniors and seniors! We’ve learned that since students are so close to these issues, they are better equipped to come up with REALLY cool ideas to solve them.
They’ll join six other students on a team that comes up with an idea for a tech-enabled company that helps solve a problem in the community. The top teams will move onto the United Negro College Fund Weekend of the Stars Hackathon where the technology part of their ideas will be built for Computer Science students. It all culminates with a presentation at Morehouse College on the afternoon of Friday, April 10th and a reception that evening. How cool is that?!?!
