A giant indoor water park and lodge is coming to LaGrange, Georgia.
Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Resorts will open a Great Wolf Lodge in 2018, La Grange officials announced. The project will include a 93,000 square-foot indoor water park and a 456-room resort hotel with restaurant and conference space. Officials estimate the park will attract about 500,000 people a year.
The Georgia facility will be Great Wolf’s first facility in the deep South. It currently operates 14 indoor water parks, including five in Ohio and one in Canada. The parks feature 84-degree water temperatures year-round with water slides, a wave pool, lazy river, climbing ropes, bowling alley and arcades.
Waterpark visits are free to those staying at the resort with a limited number of additional wristbands for water park entrance only. The wristbands, good for one day, are $50.
The LaGrange facility will be located off Interstate 85 at the Whitesville Road/Georgia 219 interchange.
Great Wolf had originally wanted to build in Peachtree City, Georgia but the city council in the planned community rejected its rezoning request after complaints from residents.
